Recent Crime Activity - Hunt Club Area

Recently received from our local Constable - FYI.

Hello,

This email is being sent to advise you of a recent spike in theft from vehicles in your neighbourhood.

So far this month there have been 9 theft from vehicle reports filed in and around the South Keys, Upper Hunt Club, Greenboro, and Hunt Club area.

On May 9th alone Ottawa Police received five reports.  Four were from St. Barbara St. and one from Apple Hill Dr.

 The other four occurrences are as follows: 
May 7th on Raj Terrace
May 12th on Bramblegrove Cres
May 15th on Ashpark Cres. 
May 17th on Fernwood Dr.

Other than the 5 that were reported on May 9th it does appear that these incidents are related.

As a point of reference we received 8 theft from vehicle reports for the same area in the month of April.

In many of the incidents it appears the vehicle was left unlocked with valuables inside.

Please pass this information onto your neighbours and ask them to keep their vehicles locked and to remove all valuables such as wallets, GPS's, MP3 players and loose change.

Also, if you hear of anyone that has had their car entered please encourage them to file a police report if they have not already done so.
